Springfield
A Crescent Community
The 6,906-yard, 18-hole course follows the rolling terrain
of Fort Mill and slices through the oak and pine forest
predominant in this part of the South. Bridges take you across
streams that feed Sugar Creek, which borders Springfield.
Although it was completed in 2001, Springfield Golf Club was
designed with an eye toward the 1920s era, considered by experts
to be the Golden Age of Architecture in golf. |

Classic Southern Architecture Inspires
Springfield
The style of
homes found throughout the southern United States provides inspiration
for the architecture at Springfield. When the sales center opens in May,
it will be a fine display of the classic style to be built throughout
the community. The sales center will feature 12-foot ceilings on the
first floor, solid 9-foot doors and a large front porch, just like the
original Springfield House just down the road.

The Anne Springs Close
Greenway is Springfield’s largest amenity, and membership is included
with each home. Spanning 2,300 acres, the Greenway includes 18 miles of
trails for walking and 14 miles of trails for cycling and horseback
riding. The Greenway offers about 60 horses (mainly Tennessee Walking
horses) or riding lessons and trail use. You can even board your horse
at the Greenway's horse barn! |

Fort Mill Schools
Get Top Marks
The Fort Mill-York 4 School District has earned an “Excellent” grade
on its state report card four years running. An independent survey
placed all district schools in the top 10 percent in the nation.
And, 126 district teachers have attended graduate-level or
advanced-training classes. To say that the public schools around
Springfield are “good” is an understatement. |
